  • Bugibba

Overlooking a beautiful expanse of deep blue sea and St Paul's Islands, St Paul's Bay has been a popular summer haunt with locals since the early 1900's and has since grown enough to generate the younger, thriving town of Bugibba. Now both towns accommodate a congenial mix of locals and tourists all keen to enjoy some respite from work and worldly worries.

Although both St Paul's Bay and to a greater extent, Bugibba come alive in summer, they are by no means deserted in winter. Both towns have a core population of permanent residents and tourists throughout the winter months generating enough local business for the main shops, bars and restaurants. Throughout the cooler weather, undisturbed vistas of coastline offer the perfect backdrop for brisk winter walks unhindered by the crowds characteristic of summer.

If a brisk walk is the order of the day in winter, a laid back stroll is more appropriate on warm summer evenings, when people set out to sample the huge variety of entertainment available. With discos, bingo halls, a casino and salsa club, to say nothing of endless shops, bars and restaurants offering the usual variety of local and international foods, Bugibba and St. Paul's Bay truly cater for all tastes.

For daytime entertainment there is, of course, the sun and sea, with a large number of hotels and beach lidos all offering competitive prices and choices for anything from a sunbed and umbrella to water sports, seaside leisure, ice-cream parlours and salad bars.
